Ventas rumba in Kuldīga is Europe’s widest waterfall: about 249 metres across, up to 275 metres in flood, and only 1.8–2.2 metres high. It is not the tallest cascade — its power is width.
The fall sits on Devonian dolomite in the Venta river. Kuldīga grew here because the rapid blocked medieval shipping. In spring and autumn vimba leap the threshold — the town was once said to catch salmon in the air.
Greg Ints’ father was born in the Kuldīga region. This landscape is not only a viewpoint — it is a lesson in water, soil and time, right where NorthSyntropy’s roots in Kurzeme begin.
